It’s so fun to see what the wedding trends are each year. I compiled a list of the ones I’m most excited to see.
- Long Banquet Tables
I’m loving long banquet tables. They are so elegant, and have a family dinner feel. They are convenient when someone is speaking up front (no trying to turn around in your seat).

Something to keep in mind though is that they aren’t ideal for mingling.
2. Audio and Interactive Guestbooks
From puzzles to audio recorded messages there have been so many fun guestbook ideas floating around! I love special wedding guestbooks. One of my favorites is the Mini Instant Camera one where people snap a picture, put it in a book and sign their name.
3. Documentary Style Photography/Wedding Movies
A good photographer is an absolute must for a wedding in my opinion. If you have the funds I highly recommend getting a good videographer as well. It’s so fun to be able to see all the special moments years down the road. My parents wedding was filmed and my siblings and I watched that video so many times over the years.
4. Potted Flowers
Potted flowers are such a brilliant idea I think! They lend such a natural charm to the atmosphere and depending on the flower chosen they can be around for years to come!
5. Elaborate cakes or alternative desserts
Wedding cakes are so fun! I literally love them all, whether they are super simple or extravagantly huge and fancy. (Can it be chocolate, please? JK but not really….chocolate is my personal favorite.)
I think it’s so fun when couples do an alternative dessert too though. This past fall I was at a wedding where the dessert was Apple Crisp and the most divine Pumpkin Crumble with ice cream.
What is a wedding trend past or present that you love?
